Let me say that marriage is not about having two incomes two vacations to cars rings trinkets and things it is about true love that holds not ill feeling . Love is an attribute of God and one of His gifts to us. 1 Corinthians 13 offers tremendous perspective regarding the true nature of Christian love. A portion of the description says that love “is not easily angered” (verse 5). This helps us understand what true love looks like (and what it doesn’t).
If love is not easily angered, then a person with a “short fuse,” who becomes angry easily, is not showing love. Love is called “patient” in verse 4 (both love and patience are listed as fruit of the spirit in Galatians -5-22-23 ). Patience includes the ability to tolerate weaknesses in others without readily expressing anger. “Love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4-8) it doesn’t fly off the handle at every provocation.-
“Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.” “But you, O- Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.”
Let us be reminded that love is pure gentle kind it’s not what you have that brings true love it is what you do not have that brings harmony and humility to the marriage.
I pray that our relationship seek God’s approval not man. The key to a successful marriage and prayer and consecration love and communication.
